Quick-Release Vacuum Coupling (Set)
These high-performance quick-release couplings are designed to allow a fast and reliable means of attaching vacuum hoses to through-bag connectors, vacuum pumps and other vacuum equipment.
VC200 is supplied as two halves - a male and a female; when connected together they make an airtight seal and allow air to pass through. When disconnected they automatically close internal valves, preventing any air leakage past either side of the coupling. VC200 couplings are custom manufactured for composites use including high temperature/pressure autoclave application. The seals are silicone and PTFE allowing them to be used at service temperatures up to 204°C/400°F.
These couplings are typically used to connect vacuum hoses to through-bag connectors in vacuum bagging applications; the male coupling is assembled together with the through-bag connector and the female coupling is attached to a vacuum hose using a hose-tail barb. When vacuum is pulled on the hose, the hose will remain sealed until it is connected to the male coupling on the through bag connector, once connected the air will be drawn from the bag, when full vacuum is achieved the hose can be disconnected, instantly sealing both the vacuum bag and the vacuum hose. This is particularly useful when moving projects from the bagging table to an oven or autoclave or performing a 'vacuum drop' leak test.
